This research, undertaken as part of my PhD, looks at how food delivery riders in Melbourne use and understand the city. This information will inform architectural proposals which will improve how riders access crucial amenities such as toilets, while also providing riders with spaces for discussion, congregation, and organisation.
This idea was tested during a meetup held over two days in December 2022 at Micro-Labs Melbourne. The success of this event was dependent on the contributions of the Transport Workers Union and the Young Workers Centre, as well as Abisna Kanagasabesan, Davis Clayton, Sam Wallman, and Cristea Zhao.
