Abyssal Bluff

2020

The enterprising explorer, the colonial crusader. The emboldened subject who deems the edge of their dominion as the edge of the world. To them, all that remains beyond is terra nullius—a no-man’s land that is ripe for capital and material extraction. Whichever processes of domination this subject chooses to employ, they do so in the name of the ‘Good’. Whether that name is Lord, Queen, Chosen People, or Sustainable Future, it is only the sole frontierist, the singular white man—of which there exist countless facsimiles—through whom the Good can be realised.
